Studio 2's live room features clear sight lines to the control room. The main room is connected to a large vocal booth at the rear of the the studio.

The floor, ceiling and walls are wooden, which provide a lovely warm tone. There is well positioned diffusion and absorption in the room which gives the perfect amount of 'room sound' to play with when experimenting with mic positioning.

A permanent feature in the room is our lovely 1920 Steinway 9 foot concert grand piano. This piano has a lot of history including being the piano used by Duke Ellington for his last ever live recording. In 2020 we completely reconditioned and re-strung this beautiful instrument and musicians find it an inspiration to play and write on.
